Hayden Gulch Yak Ranch is located in the mountains around Granite Colorado, elevation of 9,800 feet, and is 20 acres of registered mining claim inside national forest dating back to 1860. We have the Sawatch Range to the west and the Mosquito range to the east and are located in the headwaters of the Arkansas River Valley. Both ranges boast the most 14,000 foot peaks in North America. Our pasture is meadow grass with sloping canyon walls on each side of the canyon.

The ranch has a herd of Tibetan Yak which we raise for their coat fiber, pack animals and most of all their enjoyment. It started out as a whim but has grown to an experience. Who ever has not experienced their gentle companionship and friendship is missing an experience. We enjoy daily interaction with the Yak and they have come to know us as friends.

We have friendly and gentle yak cows, and calfs for sale please contact us.

If you can not hand feed  and pet the Yak we will not sell them.
